thursday, january 24, 7 p.m., town hall: sheila seaman and/or mike williams, geologists, will tell us some about the geological history of leverett. this talk will be followed up in the early spring at a date to be determined with a walk around various outcrops in leverett. wednesday, february 27, 7 p.m., leverett library: eva gibavic will present a film about native american stone and bone configurations in turner's falls near the airport. this will be followed up in early spring at a date to be determined with a walk around in leverett in search of such, along with contrasting yankee configurations of stone and bone, e.g. walls, dams, canals, foundations
these talks and walks are the first in a projected series: leverett's land, its formation and human uses over time. stayed tuned.
